jan. 20 xmas tree

Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly church members took time and used their resources to purchase, prepare and individually wrap precious gifts for our women this Christmas. The management, staff and residents at Women Crisis Services of Waterloo Region would like to thank you for the generous donation of house coats, slippers and towels that you provided for our residents this past Christmas. Your continued support to WCSWR is very important to our organization. When you support WCSWR, you are part of something very precious. You are saying ˜no’ to Women abuse and you are demonstrating your commitment to a life without violence.

Your belief in WCSWR as a valuable community resource helped us put a smile on women’s faces this Christmas when we gave them the gifts that you donated. The women enjoyed receiving and opening the gifts on Christmas morning. Some of them expressed that they had never had anything like this before. It was amazing to see that your gifts went a long way in making our women’s Christmas more enjoyable and more importantly making them feel valued.

We’d like to also extend our appreciation to Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly for hosting our women for a carnival and for mother’s day. It was easy to notice the glow on their faces when they returned.

Most of the women we serve come from relationships whereby they have constantly been shown and told that they do not matter and that they are not valued. Here at WCSWR we support them in their journeys to regain their self-esteem, confidence and self-worth among other things. Your generous donation this year, and in previous years, has played a big role in affirming the message that we want the women to receive.   Our women important and valuable members of our community and they can be free from abusive relationships and be able to live happy lives free from violence.

Thank you again for your generosity.

Margaret, Residential Support Worker, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
