Youth Champions Program
Calling all youth leaders who are passionate about making change!

In collaboration with Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
In September 2022, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region is launching the Youth Champions Program, which is designed to create community leaders and advocates. The program will support youth in learning about healthy relationships in their home life, peer group and personal life, all while sharing what they learn on social media with their friends!
Open to all high school students, the youth champions program welcomes and embraces students of all identities to feel safe in this learning space.

Why become a CHAMPION?
- Contribute by bringing awareness to an important cause
- Engage and expand networks and engage further within communities
- Gain vital experience and knowledge on social issues regarding domestic violence and its effects on youth
- Build skill sets in leadership and collaboration
- Team up with likeminded and inspiring students in local communities
- Earn volunteer hours
Choose the role that best suits you!
We offer two different roles within the youth champions program, each with differing levels of responsibility and participation.
Social Media Champion
- Attend one educational zoom meeting (1 hour of volunteer time to be tracked)
- Attend one onboarding meeting and a final wrap-up meeting to end the program (one hour per meeting is tracked)
- Post 4-10 times per month (4 posts = 1 volunteer hour)
- Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.
- Receive an end of term gift as a thank you
Leadership Champion
- Attend educational zoom meetings (1 hour of volunteer time to be tracked per meeting)
- Attend one onboarding meeting and a final wrap-up meeting to end the program (one hour per meeting is tracked)
- Post 16+ times per month (4 posts = 1 volunteer hour)
- Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.
- Help create campaign ideas and community awareness
- Receive an end of term gift as a thank you
