Nick and Krista Boertien wanted to do something meaningful to end violence against women in Waterloo Region. So they hosted a fundraiser using our peer-to-peer fundraising tool. With our tool, they created an online fundraising page, sent out email invitations to friends, family and colleagues to participate, and tracked their results in real-time online.
The result of their efforts? Nick, who works in commercial real estate, and his wife Krista, who works in human resources for a local university, raised over $7,000 to help abused women and their children in Waterloo Region. They and their friends, family members and colleagues (see below) donated $3,915 in cash and $3,400 in gift cards, towels, toiletries and household items.
