The new Haven House will be built on a 2.286 acre property at 10 Acorn Way in Cambridge and will serve 45 women and children. The She Deserves It ¦a Rebuilt Haven House campaign, led by WCSWR, continues its efforts to achieve the fundraising goals for this project.

Once built, Haven House will have adequate space for programming and partnerships, and be an environment conducive to healing. The rebuilt Haven House will feature a notable security system, private entrance for clients, a commercial kitchen and servery, expandable bedrooms (for women with several children), designated program spaces for youth, music therapy, spiritual care, medical care and much more.

Reid’s Heritage Construction (RHC), a commercial construction company in Cambridge with both the experience and the necessary compassion needed when working on projects with unique care requirements, has been chosen as the builder for this project.

Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region and the shelters they provide are an essential cornerstone of a healthy community. Working with the dedicated members of the Haven House team has served as a healthy reminder to our team to fully appreciate the importance of the organization, not only in times of need but every day. RHC is proud to provide support and construction services for the new Haven House women’s shelter. Grant Roughley, President of RHC.

Mary Zilney, CEO of Women’s Crisis Services reminds us that every abused woman in Cambridge and North Dumfries, and in Waterloo Region, deserves a facility that is conducive to her being able to move forward and break the intergenerational cycle of abuse so that the next generation does not need to seek our help. We are most grateful to our supporters and leaders who have made this progress possible with significant contributions of skills and financial donations in recognition of the critical need in our community. We continue to seek support to move beyond violence.  Please help us build this shelter so that abused women and their children do receive what they deserve, a new Haven House.

This $9.4 million project is underway; with a $3.5 million goal still to be raised. To view donations to date, click here.
