Soon we will open the doors to the rebuilt HAVEN HOUSE on Acorn Way in Cambridge. This project has been a long time coming and all of the finer details are now being completed.
Furniture is being delivered, doors hung, systems being tested, everything is being cleaned and dusted, pictures hung, paint being touched up. Just last week we received the beds from a local craftsman and the mattresses were placed. With all of this work to be done, we needed more hands and the women at Soroptimist International Cambridge were the first in line to lend their time.
Joining us for the day at Haven House on Acorn Way, the women of Soroptimist were ready for hard work. They unpacked the linens and made all of the beds in our shelter! They prepped the beds for the residents that we will be transferring over, and ensured that there was a comfortable space for new residents too. Each bed was made with love and care as they also placed teddy bears to welcome our smallest residents.
Thank you to the Soroptimists for ensuring our bedrooms are ready to welcome women and children who are escaping domestic violence and abuse. We are very fortunate to have the long time support of your group for the people we serve.
