An investment in the Children and Youth of our Region to mark the start of a new school year
Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR) is proud to partner with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation to rebuild the lives of abused children in Waterloo Region with a $75,000 donation to the Rebuild Haven House¦She Deserves It campaign as we all celebrate Back to School.
The Lyle S. Hallman Foundation continues Lyle’s tradition of giving by providing grants to organizations in Waterloo Region that support health, education and children’s initiatives that inspire and grow individual and community potential. The Foundation’s Children and Youth Capital initiative supports capital projects that increase access to recreation and character-building activities for children and youth aged 0 “ 16 in Waterloo Region. This investment will support WCSWR’s work with the youngest survivors of domestic abuse and violence as they increase their residential and programming capacity.
Children who have experienced domestic violence are among the most vulnerable. The Lyle S Hallman Foundation has invested in Haven House as a way of supporting those children to grow and thrive in a safe and supportive environment. They continue to be a strong partner with Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, having provided funding for the rebuilding of Haven House and previously Anselma House. 45% of our residents are children; therefore our goals align perfectly in that together we can help break the intergenerational cycle of abuse and inspire children and their moms to Move Beyond Violence.
