Ways to Give
Donate NowGive Monthly

Your contribution goes a long way!

Every year, Women’s Crisis Services provides safe shelter to more than 500 people, as well as outreach services to more than 1000 women. This would be impossible without our generous donors.

Every donation makes a difference

We understand that giving looks differently for each donor, so we offer a variety of ways to give. Giving your way, enables us to serve more women and children experiencing violence as the needs in our community grow.

Become a Monthly Donor

By giving monthly you’ll make us stronger with a foundation of support we can count on. Our monthly donor community provides steady, ongoing funds to help women and children in crisis. Become a monthly donor today, by completing the form here.

Having those one-time bumps is great but it’s hard to plan. It might come, it might not come, but with monthly donations, you can put that in your budget.

Donate by Stocks and Securities

Donating stocks and securities is a great way to support our work while reducing your tax bill. Your gift will impact our community for generations and save you money in the process. You will not be taxed on any capital gains, when donating directly to charity even if the stock has increased in value from when you purchased it.  As a result, you can make a larger donation and have a bigger impact on our community.

You will also receive a tax receipt for the full value at the time of sale. It is our policy to sell any securities donated to us and to receipt at the sale value.

To donate stocks and securities, complete our Donor to Broker Authorization form.

Join our Leadership Giving Club

Leadership givers are those unique donors who give transformative gifts as annual donations (greater than $1000 per gift). However, some leaders prefer to give weekly, quarterly, through pledges or otherwise. As a member of the leadership club, you have the liberty to give in a way that best suit their lifestyle, capacity, and interests and unlock exclusive membership benefits. Leadership giving is a great way to take the next step in your giving journey while helping to shape the future of the lives of our clients. Contact us today to make an impact.

Recognize Someone Special

Donating to help women and children, in recognition of others, is a lovely way to remember the people you love, to honour their achievements, to mark a milestone or celebrate with them. Give to recognize someone special and notify the person you are honouring them by letter or email. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation. Complete our donation form here.

In Memory of a Loved One

A memorial gift is a wonderful way to honour those who have passed away. Your support of Women’s Crisis Services will continue to impact our community in the legacy of your loved one. Give in memory of a loved one and notify family members of your donation should you wish them to know.

Leave a Legacy

Your legacy is a gift of hope and courage! Including a legacy gift in your estate and financial planning is a thoughtful and practical way of ensuring support of your favourite charity continues, in your name. Your legacy of support can also ensure tax benefits to your estate and your surviving loved ones.

Loyal donors are often pleased to know that they can include Women’s Crisis Services in their plans alongside providing for loved ones. Any gift to us is treasured and appreciated and directly benefits women and children who are fleeing violence.

Through the support of deferred gifts and legacy planning, we will continue to be a safe place for those in need.

The following are some ways in which your legacy of hope and courage can continue:

  • Charitable Bequest/Will (Gift of cash, including a specific sum or percentage or residual) or Real Estate
  • Life Insurance (Direct beneficiary or owner)
  • Registered Retirement Savings Plan and Registered Retirement Income Fund
  • Charitable Remainder Trust

Including a charity component can also have advantages during your lifetime when planning your personal finances. You may also consider establishing a fund dedicated to serving the needs of people who benefit the most from our work.

Legacy giving gives you control and enables you to have a lasting impact for generations to come.

The Outreach Program has been a god send in helping with my recovery from leaving an Emotionally Abusive relationship. My Outreach Worker has helped me see that what I went through was indeed abuse and not my fault. I will be forever grateful for the aid I have received this far.

— Former Outreach Client

Thank you so much for all the support I received. My workers literally changed my life and were my guardian angels during the hardest period of my life. I have no idea what I would have done without the support and guidance I received.

— Former Outreach Client

The shelter was the first time I felt really supported since arriving in Canada. My “I” were changed to “We” and I felt how powerful that could be.

— Former Shelter Resident

My primary worker was super kind and accommodating. And I love it most when she says “We will figure it out together.” It reminds me that I am not alone.
