Dear Community Partners,

As we navigate the impact of COVID-19, we wanted to inform you of precautions we are taking at
Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. We are committed to protecting the safety of our clients,
staff and larger community. We are closely monitoring the situation and continue to take direction from
Public Health.

We have increased sanitization measures at both shelters, Anselma House and Haven House. We have
also increased signage and implemented new screening procedures to assess visitors. Those who do not
pass the screening will not be able to enter the building.

In order to ensure a safe environment, we are only allowing essential visitors into the shelter. There will
be no donation drop offs permitted and we are suspending programming offered by external
contractors within the shelters. We are cancelling community meetings and external groups such as Safe
Steps and TLC. Virtual meetings and conference calls will be held wherever possible. We have put
several other measures in place to encourage social distancing and sanitization among residents in the
shelters.

We will continue to communicate and provide updates. Thank you for your support during this
challenging time.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Hutton
Chief Executive Officer
Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
