Unifor is the largest union in the private sector representing 310,000 members from coast to coast to coast with over 100,000 female members. Each year the members mark International Women’s Day by holding or participating in events across the country that mobilize towards women’s equality. There is no greater evidence of te lack of gender equality than violence against women.
This year Unifor will donate $146,000 to women’s shelters across Canada, and locally we were presented with a donation for Anselma House and Haven House!
