We are so fortunate to have long standing relationships with our community, its residents and businesses.
Some of those relationships start as a personal connection or as an employee led initiative, some start with the need to help others, some start with a simple donation of time, talent, or diapers.
Our relationship with HomeSense was born from a corporate directive. One of their corporate charity initiatives is with Canadian Women’s Foundation.
HomeSense supports Canadian Women’s Foundation with its national Shop for Hope campaign. Twice a year HomeSense stores sell specially-marked Shop for Hope products and 100% of net proceeds help fund local shelters and violence prevention programs in Canadian communities.
We are very fortunate to receive funding grants from these initiatives.
Our local HomeSense on King Street in Waterloo has gone a few steps further. Their employees are always eager to hear about what our needs are and how they can help out. On a regular basis they call us with donations of new linens, housewares, décor and more. Their donations help bring comfort and pride to women and their children who have survived domestic abuse. Small items like a silver picture frame or a set of new bedding are creating a sense of home as they begin a new life.
Thank you to Cindy and her helpful and encouraging team at HomeSense in Waterloo for going above and beyond in our community.
